The office of Ethnic Relations is concerned with helping ethnic
minority people within the Assemblies of God to find acceptance
and understanding. We are also concerned with helping our leadership
on all levels better relate to our growing multi-cultural community.
Ethnic minority congregations now comprise over 25% of all Assemblies
of God congregations (USA). This website will give you important
information about ethnic minority populations and the ministry challenges
they represent.
Our purpose is to:
-
Provide a forum for listening and understanding the ethnic
minority issues of our Fellowship,
-
Give direction for formulating, establishing, and communicating
a vision for ethnic minority ministry, and
-
Recommend changes so that ethnic minorities can participate
to a greater degree in all areas of our Fellowship.
The work of the office is guided by a Commission on Ethnicity consisting
of ethnic minority pastors throughout the Fellowship and Executives
of the Fellowship. The office is accountable to the Executive Presbytery
through the office of the General Superintendent.
